The Era of Blogging is Upon Us!

So we did it. We have crossed the threshold into blogging world. I felt there was a whole world of family togetherness out there in cyberspace that I was missing out on. Plus, I wanted to be able to keep friends and family updated. Here's the catch, all my pictures will be begged and borrowed. =) But I will do my best to stay up to date and let you know how Chris and I are doing.

UPDATES
Chris and I had a great summer. We didn't seem to get out of town too much, but we were privileged enough to be a part of some amazing weddings. The highlight of which was being the matron of honor at my Best Friend Shirlyn's wedding on September 6Th. I have included some more stolen pictures to give you a taste of how amazing the wedding was.

They were married on an Alpaca Farm in Hood River, Oregon. (They also have an onsite yarn shop with beautiful Alpaca yarn and a great deal of other outstanding quality yarn. If you are a knitter or crocheter go check it out: http://www.foothillsyarn.com/.) It was the sweetest country wedding on a beautiful late summer day. Shirlyn was a stunning bride. And Reuben was Handsome too. They had a fluffy white farm dog and a fuzzy Alpaca as there dutiful ring bearers. One of our guests managed to catch a close up of me watching the procession. Fun! You can view more pics at http://www.shirlyn-reuben.blogspot.com/.

New Community

In April, Chris and I moved to NE Portland. We live in a quiet 3 plex right next to Fern Hill Park. I like to take my early morning ( or mid morning/late afternoon) nature walks there. They also have soccer fields, a huge play area and a full size track! It is Dog friendly so I like to scope out the best looking dogs as we are aspiring dog owners. Still not sure exactly when we will get one though. First I have to stop feeding the stray cats!

New Careers-New Transitions

I recently quit my full time Job with Custom Decorators. YAY! I am pleased to announce I have just been hired as of yesterday at Starbucks Coffee! I am going to work part time as I finish my Master of Arts in Teaching, which leads me to the next topic.

~I am currently back at school, yes, again, attending Concordia University finishing my Masters, or should I say, beginning it. I start tutoring today at Rigler Elementary School to get more experience. I will be working with sweet fourth graders who are sponsored by the I Have a Dream Foundation. My actual student teaching does not start until spring of 2010.
~ Chris was accepted into the local Carpenter's Union Training Program. He is currently on the waiting list to start as they have so many applicant you have to wait until you get to the top of the list. But we are awaiting that day with patience.
For now I am enjoying not working and diving into my school and training. I am looking forward to what the next year will bring. One thing is for sure, changes are coming, they always do.
